I want to be that spontaneous, fly-by-the-seat-of-her-pants traveller. I really do.
In most other areas, I think I AM that person. But for some reason, that person disappears when it comes to planning an itinerary and is replaced by a compulsive list-maker, bargain seeker, t-crosser and i-dotter of extreme measures.
Everything about travel has been my happy place for as long as I can remember. I am sure a psychologist would have a field day taking that apart, but I think it stems from my childhood growing up in East Africa and flying back to Australia every 4 years to visit. My frugal, wise parents incorporated a varied international travel experience into our growing up.
I love knowing all the details. I want to know the entertainment program before I get on the plane. I most definitely want to know what I will be eating on the plane. I LOVE the plane experience. 🙂
A few months ago I planned the
meticulous details bare bones of a trip to Europe. Now I am beginning to go over that initial itinerary with a fine-toothed comb, hunting down the very cheapest way to do things we want to do and weeding out unnecessary expense. Goodby luxury, hello experiences and memories.
As I whittle the $$ down, I will be posting details of where and how I save. Stay tuned.
